HMT started production of commercial quality cold drawn seamless carbon steel tubes at its Mumbai plant which was the origin of this business. During the year 1982, the company started its 2nd plant in Ankleshwar. Gujarat, for the production of special quality cold drawn seamless carbon steel tubes aimed at a more demanding clientele and various applications such as refineries, petrochemicals, fertilizer plants, power plants, etc.
